Albert Dock
Dock Warehouse in Wales, dating from the Post-Medieval
A complex of dock buildings and warehouses in Liverpool, opened in 1846. Designed by Jesse Hartley, it was the first structure in Britain where the weights of the upper floors were wholly supported by cast iron columns. Now home to museums including Tate Liverpool and the Merseyside Maritime Museum.
