Forth Bridge
Railway Engineering in Scotland, dating from the Post-Medieval
A cantilever railway bridge over the Firth of Forth near Edinburgh, completed in 1890. Its distinctive red-painted steel structure spans 2,467 metres and was a milestone in bridge design and engineering. It remains in active use and was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2015.
