Thwaite Watermill
Water Mill in England, dating from the Post-Medieval
One of the last intact water-powered mills on the River Aire in Leeds. Built in 1823, it originally crushed seed for oil and ground flint for pottery glazes. The massive waterwheel and line-shafting still operate, demonstrating the ingenious use of water power in Yorkshire industry.
