Sie gehört zur Kirchgemeinde Gressow-Friedrichshagen in der Propstei Wismar im Kirchenkreis Mecklenburg der Evangelisch-Lutherischen Kirche in Norddeutschland. Kirchengeschichtliche Bedeutung erlangten Kirche und Gemeinde im Zuge der Reformation im Klützer Winkel, die hier ihren Ausgang nahm und dann ganz Mecklenburg erfasste.
