St. Lambert war zunächst eine Eigenkirche in Mainz und gehörte später zu verschiedenen städtischen Klöstern (Lorscher Hof (Kloster Lorsch), Beginenkloster, neues Franziskanerkloster), bis es in der Zeit der Säkularisierung von den Franzosen beschlagnahmt wurde. Die Gebäude wurden 1832 abgerissen.
