Die katholische Pfarrkirche Herz Jesu ist die kleinste und jüngste Kirche der römisch-katholischen Gemeinden in Schifferstadt. Die Kirchenstiftung wurde am 28. Februar 1955 durch den Pfarrer von St. Jakobus, Josef Schwartz, gegründet. Am 21. Februar 1960 erfolgte der „Erste Spatenstich“, an Palmsonntag, den 10. April 1960 die Grundsteinlegung. Am 22. Oktober 1961 konsekrierte Isidor Markus Emanuel, Bischof von Speyer den Kirchenneubau.
