Nikolaikirche

Die Nikolaikirche ist eine evangelisch-lutherische Kirche in Elmshorn im schleswig-holsteinischen Kreis Pinneberg. Es handelt sich um einen Backsteinbau, der sich mitten im Zentrum der Stadt erhebt. Stadtbildprägend ist der neugotische Kirchturm. Bei der Nikolaikirche handelt es sich um eine einschiffige, im Kern gotische Saalkirche. Die Inneneinrichtung ist aber ebenso wie der Südflügel in der Zeit des Barock entstanden. Historisch hatte die Kirche über die Stadtgrenzen Elmshorns hinaus Bedeutung: Von 1726 bis 1882 war der jeweilige Hauptprediger von Elmshorn zugleich Propst der Propstei Rant
