Vredeborg

Die Vredeborg oder Vredeborch (hochdeutsch: Friedeburg) war von 1407 bis 1425 eine Niederungsburg der Stadt Bremen bei Atens (im heutigen Nordenham). Sie sollte als Zwingburg das friesische Gebiet von Stadland und Butjadingen für die bremische Herrschaft sichern und als Stützpunkt zur Bekämpfung der Seeräuberei im Gebiet der Wesermündung dienen.
