Rock Art, MAGHERANAUL

Rock Art in Ireland, dating from the Bronze Age

Described by Van Hoek as 'Higher up the same hill-slope but in the next field to the NW is a large slab in heather, most likely detached from the bedrock on the same spot. On it supper surface, now sloping 18 degrees to the S, is a large cup and four complete rings. The cup is quite distinct but the rings are extremely faint. The slab now almost touches the stone wall to the S' (fig. 12A) (Van Hoek 1987, 39). Compiled by: Caimin O'Brien Date of upload/revision: : 30 May 2010
