Cupmarked stone in Ireland, dating from the Bronze Age

In pasture, on E-facing slope. Recumbent stone (L 1.7m; Wth 1.5m) with one large (diam. 0.12m; D 0.12m) and three smaller cup-marks on its upper surface. Large cup-mark has roughly circular stone cover (diam. 0.24m; H 0.1m) with shallow hollow on underside; water-filled and said locally to cure warts. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
