Cupmarked stone in Ireland, dating from the Bronze Age

In rough grazing, on a W-facing slope which is largely covered with ferns and briars, on the S side of Lough Hyne. Two cupmarks, one circular (diam. 0.08m; D 0.02m) and the other oval (0.12m x 0.07m; D 0.03m), are visible on the upper surface of a roughly rectangular boulder (1.8m NW-SE; 1.4m NE-SW; H 0.75m) that slopes down to the W. There are also several naturally occurring depressions on the stone. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009).
