Unknown 'Duncannon Wreck'
Shipwreck in Ireland, dating from 660
This substantial wreck was discovered in 2002 during dredging operations by Waterford Port, when archaeological monitoring by The Archaeological Diving Company Ltd. (ADCO) recovered timbers from the dredge head. Subsequent survey and investigation by ADCO identified it as a large, wooden wreck, lying partially exposed on the seabed, with both structural and decking timbers visible as well as a line of iron cannon protruding from the wreck.
