Tingstad i Gudbrandsdalen var et lokalt tingsted i et av de viktigste dalførene under Eidsivatingets lovområde. Gudbrandsdalen hadde eget fogderi og flere tinglag med lokale bygdeting. Stedsnavnet 'Tingstadbua' i området vitner om et tingstue-bygg der rettsforhandlinger ble holdt.
