Tingvollen i Tromsø-området er Norges nordligste stedsnavn knyttet til tinginstitusjonen. Gårdsnavnet 'Tingvollen' (tingsletta) viser at det ble holdt lokale ting også i det høye nord under Frostatingets lovområde. Tromsø amt hadde Senjen og Tromsø fogderi med mange underliggende tinglag.
