An area of prehistoric settlement sites in Østermarie parish, the largest parish on Bornholm, in the island's northeast. Østermarie's old church ruin dates to the 12th century. The surrounding fertile land has supported continuous habitation since prehistory, with nearby Louisenlund (east of Østermarie) holding Bornholm's second-largest collection of standing stones. The area's archaeological significance reflects Bornholm's dense Iron Age and Viking Age settlement patterns on its productive eastern soils.
