Gammel Skovsende Plantage is a heath plantation (hedeplantage) near Sønder Omme in Billund Kommune, part of the wave of afforestation that transformed the Jutland heathlands from the late 19th century. The plantations were typically established by Det Danske Hedeselskab, founded in 1866 by Enrico Dalgas, often with backing from Copenhagen investors. The plantation represents the cultural landscape transition from open, wind-scoured heath to managed conifer forest.
