This kulturmiljø encompasses the core of the old Gentofte village and its surrounding residential area, which has been continuously developed since the late 19th century. Gentofte Landsby's origins go back to medieval times, and the village church is one of the oldest structures in the municipality. Today the area is characterised by a mix of older village structures and later villa development.
