Karlebo Overdrev is designated as cultural environment no. 18 in Fredensborg Kommune, centred on the former smallholder area along Kulsviervej. The 1840 census registered 15 inhabitants as charcoal burners (kulsviere), and poor smallholders used all wood on their plots for charcoal production during the Napoleonic Wars when prices were high. The area preserves an original winding (uudrettet) road course and the remains of a 19th-century smallholding subdivision on the overdrev.
