Forløberen til MCH Messecenter skal findes i aktieselskabet A/S Herning Hallen, der blev stiftet i 1944, da man prøvede at finde penge til at få bygget en sportshal i midtbyen. Herning Hallen stod færdig som kombineret sports og udstillingshal i 1954
