Volkmølle is a kulturmiljø at the hilly terrain east of Randers overlooking Randers Fjord, historically home to an old cement foundry and water mill. From 1937 to the late 1960s, the Volkmøllebakken hosted major motorsport hill races attracting thousands of spectators -- the 1955 Motocross des Nations drew 40,000 attendees, and World Championships were held there in 1963, 1965, and 1966. The dramatic landscape of steep hills and fjord views gives the area a distinctive character.
