Tjærbybæk

Tjærbybæk is a kulturmiljø near the village of Tjærby on the north side of Randers Fjord, an area known for its especially well-preserved village environments. The villages along the fjord's north shore -- Tjærby, Vestrup, Albæk, and Østrup -- contain four-winged farms in a number and size rarely seen elsewhere in Denmark. Tjærby had a wooden church from Viking times, indicating that a powerful chieftain family was established here.
