Blev indviet d. 19. august 1966. Siden da har Fredericia spillet en central rolle i den danske oliehistorie. Fredericia blev valgt som sted for det store olieraffinaderi pga. havnen med en vanddybde på 15 meter og gode besejlingsforhold. R
