Aunsøgård is a manor first mentioned in 1231 that served as a royal hunting lodge used by Christian III and Frederik II during 1534-1588. Between 1725 and 1750 it was established as a main estate through the consolidation of several peasant farms, and from 1750 to 1923 it belonged to the Lerchenborg estate. The manor lies at the end of a roughly 200-year-old avenue leading from Gl. Svebølle across sloping estate fields down to the now partially drained Aunsø.
