Kulturmiljø in Denmark

This kulturmiljø represents a village ejerlav (common lands) where nearly all farms were moved out during the great land reforms (udskiftning) of the late 18th and early 19th centuries. The general pattern in the Kalundborg area was star-shaped redistribution combined with block redistribution and farm relocation. The traces of this historic reorganisation are still legible in the landscape through living hedges, stone and earth dikes, road courses, and old meadow areas.
