Skottehytta i Petuniabukta ble trolig satt opp avThe Scottish Spitsbergen Syndicate Ltd. ca 1909. På1950 og -60 tallet ble hytta benyttet av CambridgeGeological Expeditions og har siden 1980-talletvært base for blant andre polske forskere.
