Cromford Canal
Canal Engineering in England, dating from the Post-Medieval
Built in 1794 to carry coal and cotton from the Cromford mills to the wider canal network. The canal passes through the Leawood Pumphouse, which contains a restored Cornish beam engine used to pump water from the River Derwent into the canal. Part of the Derwent Valley Mills UNESCO landscape.
