Madsebakke is Denmark's largest rock carving site, located on a rocky slope between Allinge and Sandvig in northern Bornholm. The Late Bronze Age carvings (c. 1100-500 BC) include fourteen ship depictions, five wheel crosses, five foot figures, and numerous cup marks. Pits with fire-blackened stones found nearby suggest the site served as a sanctuary where rituals involving sacrifices, sacred meals, and ceremonies took place. Cremation urns from the same period have been found in nearby burial cairns.
