Ny Kirke in Nyker is the smallest of Bornholm's four medieval round churches, built in the early 13th century of granite boulders. Like the other round churches, it was designed with thick stone walls, small narrow windows, and a flat-roof defensive platform. It was built around the time when Wendish raids were declining, and it shows the least evidence of actual combat use. The strong centre column inside is richly decorated with murals from several periods.
