A cluster of preserved smokehouses on Bornholm's west coast near Hasle, representing the island's traditional herring-smoking industry. Hasle Røgeri, one of the oldest on the island, is the last smokehouse on Bornholm that still smokes fish the old-fashioned way with open chimneys and alderwood. The preserved smokehouse buildings with their characteristic tall chimneys are important cultural monuments from the era when fishing and fish processing formed the backbone of the coastal economy.
