Tulip/Jaka refers to the former Jaka canning factory in Brabrand, founded in 1951 by 19 Jutland cooperative slaughterhouses and opened on 24 September 1954 to produce canned pork products including the famous Jaka Bov. At its peak, the factory employed approximately 550 people and had significant impact on Brabrand, including controlling 50 apartments and having a dedicated bus line from Aarhus for workers. The factory became part of Tulip International in 1990 and later Danish Crown, before closing on 1 March 2008.
