Den Permanente is a bathing establishment in Risskov, Aarhus, designed by city architect Frederik Marius Rasmussen Draiby and inaugurated on 27 May 1933. It was built in durable materials to withstand Danish winter weather -- hence the name "The Permanent" -- with its distinctive horseshoe shape and diving towers inspired by a facility in Berlin. A 1965 storm destroyed the two wings, and the facility was rebuilt in simplified form; it remains Aarhus's most popular outdoor bathing spot.
