Godsbanearealerne is the former freight railway area in central Aarhus, centered on the Godsbaneården (freight station) designed by DSB's chief architect Heinrich Wenck and inaugurated in 1923. Aarhus Kommune purchased the area in 2008 and transformed it into a center for art and cultural production, with the main building reopening as "Godsbanen" in 2012. The area is designated as a preservation-worthy kulturmiljø and is being developed as the new creative district "Aarhus K."
